SW Booking Procedure

Bookings for all event are based on the 'first come, first served' principle. To book a place use the button on the website or email George Martin directly. If the event is over-subscribed you will be placed on the reserve list. For some events (weekends etc.) your booking will only be confirmed on payment of a deposit (details will be published as part of the event description).

SW Green Fees £40

2026 monthly event green fees for the SW region are held at £40 and can be paid by card or cash. We 'round' the fees for each venue (some are more expansive and others cheaper) for simplicity, and to provide a small amount of money to buy prizes with.

Woodbury Park 11 september - Competion, Match and Top Table

This event (deliberately) coincides with the Corps Family Weekend at CTCRM on 12 and 13 September. The event will consist of three main parts;

To take part in the Comp,volunteer for the RMA GS Match team or attend the TT just specify your preference in the email i.e. Comp, Match, TT or Comp, Match. Please note that volunteering for the match team doesn’t mean you will be selected - this will be decided by the match captain

Top Table

To celebrate 50 years since the formation of the RM Golf Society the event will be held in a private function suite at Woodbury Park. Attended by RMGS and RMA GS members the event will follow a Top Table lunch format, and the dress is shirt and tie. The emphasis will be on a relaxed and informal celebration of 50 years of Corps Golf. There will be sufficient time between the completion of the match and the start of the event for guests to change (shower facilities are available). Cost are expected to be around £40.

Ashbury corps dinner and closer weekend 31 october 2026

Invitation to celebrate the 362nd Corps Birthday and 12th RMA Golf Society Anniversary with a ceremonial event.

Costs

The cost is £150 for twin sharing or £TBC single room which includes both rounds/buggy/DBBL and The Corps Dinner is included in the price. Payment details will be published soon, and please note that confirming your attendance is also committing to pay.

The Venue

If you have never played at Ashbury you should be aware that it is vast. It has 103 holes, is one of the UK’s largest golf resorts and the 9th largest in the world. Given the size of the place buggies are a must and our price includes buggy hire for two days. The rooms are clean and basic and the public rooms have been recently refurbished.

Corps Dinner

As has now become traditional for our society the evening will be a mix of the formal and informal. We will observe all the usual traditions of toasts, Beat Retreat, citation (s) and speeches while wearing our RMA GS golf shirts and serving ourselves from the 'main galley' hotplate.
